all project start with a need

concept
loud, fun, and energetic were the adjectives that came to mind after watching the uncut episodes. we wanted the concept to show her care-free attitude, with a silly car parked in the driveway of what’s clearly her parents house.

shoot
can’t come to New York… so we’ll bring Queens to LA. 3 days to build a set. we also wanted to do two shoots in one, ensuring we have enough for the next few seasons.

build out
this project came with a lot of backend work to composit. working with the sizes and so. many. windows. on the car! it was a fun challenge!
subway takeover
awkwafina is famous for being from Queens. thinking outside the box, we asked the MTA for a voiceover.
behind the scenes
the concepting process took many turns, from including all cast members, incorporating NY, to more minimalistic approaches.
once the concept was decided, we went to shoot where we had to recreate the exterior of the house in a lot in LA, due to no homes having the right look during the scouting process.
